Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized the Congress party for a social media post published by its Kerala unit targeting Chief Justice of India Surya Kanth. The contentious online statement addressed the Chief Justice directly and called for his resignation following remarks regarding restrictions on protests in Delhi.

Chief Justice Surya Kant stated that restrictions on protests in Delhi constituted a law-and-order matter beyond his domain. The Congress party unit in Kerala subsequently published a post on X containing the phrase Dear Surya Kant and demanded that he resign from his post. The official statement from the opposition party asserted that an able replacement could be found.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that the Kerala unit of the Congress party published a highly condemnable post targeting the head of the Supreme Court. He accused the opposition party of showing disrespect toward constitutional institutions. The ruling party maintained that dragging constitutional authorities into political disputes undermines democratic frameworks.

The controversy emerged following judicial observations regarding public demonstrations and administrative jurisdiction in the national capital. The original social media publication was later deleted by the Congress party following widespread public and political backlash. National political figures from the ruling administration continued to condemn the opposition over the incident, framing the online statements as an attack on the judiciary.
