The Delhi Police has expanded its ongoing cyber investigations after uncovering a Pakistan angle linked to misleading social media posts that threaten public order. Sanjay Bhatia, Additional Commissioner of Police for the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit, discussed the department's heightened efforts to monitor and take action against these digital threats. Investigators are closely examining how false narratives and rumors are systematically propagated across online platforms to disrupt communal harmony.

According to Sanjay Bhatia, the probe breadth of the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit has increased significantly following the discovery of cross-border elements in the dissemination of fake news. The specialized cyber wing is utilizing advanced technological tools and round-the-clock cyber patrolling to trace the origins of these inflammatory digital campaigns. Authorities have noted a deliberate pattern in the circulation of unverified content designed to mislead the public and create panic within the capital region.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that stringent legal action will be taken against individuals or groups found sharing or amplifying malicious rumors on social media networks. The Delhi Police cyber cell continues to coordinate with relevant technological platforms to flag and remove harmful content while identifying the administrative handlers behind these accounts. Further investigative updates will be released as the formal inquiry into the cross-border digital interference progresses.
