Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Sehore to meet families whose homes and crops were allegedly destroyed by local authorities. The administrative action, which drew sharp public criticism, has left several residents displaced and protesting on site. Mr. Chouhan visited the affected residents to assess the situation on the ground and listen to their grievances directly.

The controversy centers around actions taken in the region by the Van Vikas Nigam, targeting local communities including Barela tribal families. According to reports from the area, 12 tribal families in Kosami village saw their houses dismantled and standing maize crops ruined during the drive. The affected residents subsequently sat on a dharna in protest against the local administration's actions.

During his visit, Mr. Chouhan strongly condemned the incident and expressed deep anger over the distress caused to the villagers. He questioned the officials involved about the welfare of the children and families affected by the move, stating that such actions cross all limits of injustice. He further added that the victims would receive support while accountability is pursued.

As the situation unfolds, the state administration faces mounting pressure from various political quarters regarding the handling of the eviction drive. Local representatives and affected villagers continue to demand proper rehabilitation and compensation for the loss of their dwellings and agricultural produce.
