Trinamool Congress members held a protest demonstration in Kolkata to demand the immediate resignation of Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar over allegations of vote tampering. The demonstration was organized by student and youth wings of the party, targeting the central election official amidst growing political tensions.

Party representatives stated that the demonstration was intended to be a peaceful program. According to organizers, prior notification regarding the gathering had been formally communicated to the police via email ahead of the event.

Protestors reported that state police and central forces deployed heavy blockades across local routes beginning early in the morning to restrict movement toward the demonstration site. The administrative restrictions prevented several participants from reaching the designated venue for the scheduled program.

The Trinamool Congress continues to press its official demands regarding the removal of Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar. Further institutional updates and official responses from election authorities are expected as the situation develops across the state.
